This course teaches wilderness users to practice responsible habits that promote the health and safety of self, others and livestock. Students are exposed to the theory and practice of outdoor leadership, teamwork and expedition behavior utilizing horses as an accessible, efficient and environmentally sound mode of wilderness travel. Students will apply principles of ecology during the wilderness experience. Prerequisite: NOLS permission. (1-5 lect.)
