Students learn and demonstrate introductory knowledge of the nature, extent, and causes of child abuse; the types, indicators, symptoms, and effects of child abuse; the school's role in identification and investigation; reporting laws; therapeutic and medical programs/services; and the legal perspective and system. Presentations are conducted by professionals with special expertise about the child abuse problem. (S/U grade only)
