Description:
This course is designed to give students an opportunity to enhance their personal wellness through the participation in moderate to vigorous physical activity. This course is designed to complement and enhance biomechanics by focusing on balance, flexibility, and strength. The course will give an overview of different styles of Yoga, its history, and purpose. The postures (asanas), breath, and correct body mechanics for each posture will be addressed, along with contraindications and modification for limitations. Prerequisites/Corequisites Students wishing to satisfy the Health and Wellness requirement must also enroll in HLED 1270 Personal Wellness during the same semester. Credits: 1 Lecture/Lab Hours 2 hrs/week
