Description:
Students learn the roles, functions, heritage, and scope of Professional Nursing including the basic concepts of caring, documentation, communication, teaching/learning, critical thinking, problem solving, and the nursing process applying those principles to the norms of system assessment and client health status. The student is provided the theory, principles, and skills necessary to assess, plan, provide, and evaluate nursing care to clients in varied clinical settings. Prerequisite: ENGL 1010, PSYC 1000, ZOO 2010 and successful admission to the Nursing Program. Corequisite: NRST 1580, NRST 1710, and NRST 2820. (3.5 hrs lec, 1 hr lab)
