Surveys American history from approximately the time of the Civil War to the present. Emphasis on the development of constitutional, socio-political, cultural, and economic factors that explain the emergence of the United States as a global power. Meets statutory requirements for instruction in principles and provisions of the constitutions of the United States and Wyoming. Prerequisite: Must be eligible to take ENGL 1010 or consent of instructor. (3 hrs lec)
