Description:
This course is designed to prepare students and their horse to compete in jumping, Hunter under Saddle, or dressage at recognized shows. Will include correct attire for horse and rider, study of the rules for each discipline, training skills necessary to compete and show successfully, proper tack selection and how to prepare mentally and physically for the rigors of competition. Students must attend a minimum of three weekend (Saturdays and/or Sundays, specific dates noted on course syllabus) clinics or horse shows to pass this course. College does not provide horses. Prerequisite: EQST 2830 with a "C-" or better and successful completion of at least 30 credit hours. (1 hr lec, 3 hrs lab, 1 hr arr lab) Capstone Course
