Description:
This course prepares students to help, deal with, and cope when emergency care is needed. It is an in-depth look at how and what you need to do in case of an emergency; whether it is medical or trauma. Students will learn how to assist and care for a patient before medical assistance is available. Current American Heart Association materials are used for CPR and AED. On successful completion, students will receive an American Heart Association CPR card and will be eligible to apply to the Wyoming Office of Emergency Medical Services for the Emergency Medical Responders card, following all state guidelines and requirements. Students may not receive credit in both NRST 1660 and HLED 1660. (3 hrs lec, 2 hrs lab)
