MATH 1105 Data, Probability and Algebra for Elementary School Teachers (3L,3CR) [E] This is for prospective elementary school teachers. Its primary emphasis is asking and answering questions intelligently about our world through the use of algebra, probability, and data analysis in order to prepare students to be competent in teaching these major concepts. Explorations focus on representing, analyzing, generalizing, formalizing, and communicating patterns and the chances of future events. Students will use manipulatives to model/explore mathematics and apply their knowledge through service-learning. Prerequisite: "C" or better in MATH 1100.
