ENGL 2055 Creative Writing: Writing in the Wild (3L,3CR) Student-centered, weeklong field experience in Yellowstone National Park focuses on reading and writing imaginative verse and prose inspired by nature. Class days are devoted to collecting journal observations during daily hikes, engaging in a variety of writing exercises, and discussing readings and each other's writing. The course culminates in the submission of a writing portfolio. Prerequisite: Prerequisite: ENGL 1010 (ENGL 1020 recommended) or permission of the instructor, alert senses, and the ability to hike moderate distances (6-12 miles a day) over uneven terrain.
