CMAP 1855 Desktop Publishing (2L,2LB,3CR) This is a comprehensive course using current desktop publishing software to create a wide variety of documents. Students will learn how to create flyers, brochures, newsletter, custom publications, business information sets, data- driven catalogs, and large-scale publications. Additionally, they will learn how to merge a publication to a data source to create multiple documents and create an interactive web site including the creation of web forms. Students will develop skills in object linking, embedding, editing text, color editing, graphic design of objects, and template design. They will be introduced to html code and Visual Basic. Keyboarding and word processing skills are strongly recommended for successful completion of this course. Completion of CMAP 1850 Document Publishing I,CMAP 1851 Document Publishing II, and CMAP 1852 Document Publishing III(for a total of 3 credits) is equivalent to CMAP 1855 Desktop Publishing.
