BIOL 1020 Life Science (3L,3LB,4CR) [E] [SB] This is an introductory course emphasizing principles of biology including cell structure and function, genetics, ecology, evolution and organismal biology. The applications of these principles to societal issues such as the conservation of biodiversity, overpopulation and global environmental changes, biotechnology, and human wellness and disease are also considered. This course fulfills a laboratory science requirement for non-biology majors such as those in the social and behavioral sciences, humanistic studies, etc. This course is a requirement of elementary education majors and should be taken prior to or concurrently with EDCI 1430.
