A course designed to introduce students to basic mathematical calculations used in the field of pharmacology. Major topics to be covered include: guidelines for writing prescriptions, abbreviations used in prescription writing, drug dose calculations using both the ratio and the factor label method, metric conversions, and medication dispensing. Prerequisite: DVST 0900 with a grade of "C" or better or appropriate score on placement exam or MATH ACT of 21 or better.1 hour lab.
