Socio-economic impacts of agriculture, famine, deforestation, wealth allocation, politics and technology will be discussed in relation to specific plants and plant products. Examples include plant fibers, stimulants, drugs and medicinals, foods, spices and other plant-derived resources. Prerequisite: COM1 or equivalent writing course.
