Focuses on theoretical topics. Covers optimal portfolio selection under uncertainty and differential information as well as fundamental theoretical issues in banking and financial intermediation. In the latter part of the semester, students have an opportunity to present one of the assigned articles in class and lead a discussion on it, with active participation by the entire class. Prerequisites: PhD level microeconomics class (5020) and at least one 4000-level finance class.
