Introduces students to a range of recent cultural production by artists identified with immigrant communities or communities of color. Topics examined include: the intersections of gender, race, nation, culture, and class; experiences of different minorities in unified Germany; question of national and transnational identity, self-representation, immigration, multiculturalism and integration debates. Taught in German. Students are expected to read, write and discuss in German. Dual listed with GERM 5275. Prerequisite: GERM 2140 or equivalent.
