By analyzing key contemporary environmental debates, students will develop an understanding of sociological analyses, and the impact of social life on our environment, as well as the effect of the environment on social life. Topics covered include: the environmental movement; sustainable development; developing nations and their environment; capitalism and technology; and environmental justice. Prerequisite: SOC 1000.
