Applied methods for analyzing associations when some or all variables are measured in discrete categories, not continuous scales. Topics include the binomial, multinomial, and Poisson probability models, parameter estimation and hypothesis-testing about proportions, measures of association and tests for contingency tables, logistic regression, and log-linear models. Dual listed with STAT 4045. Prerequisite: two courses in statistics.
