Themes include women's position in Islamic law, society and culture, Western images of Muslim women, veiling and Islamist movements, theoretical readings on power, gender and agency. Cross listed with HIST 4335 and WMST 4335. Prerequisite: 9 hours of HIST, WMST, INST, or RELI.
