STEP 1102 helps students interact with UW campus resources, staff, and faculty; learn about resources for academic support and wellness; and explore academic and co-curricular opportunities for students' professional and personal interests. Prerequisite: Freshman or sophomore class standing.Some sections are connected with Living Learning Communities and offer extra opportunities, such as:Psychology - examine first-year student resources for psychology majorsMulticultural - learn about UW and the multicultural resources offered to studentsExploratory Studies - greater emphasis on major explorationGamers - Themed around The Hero's Journey - think role playing games, cooperative games, and books/movies like The Hobbit. We will use movies and games to explore these themes while developing "character traits" that will put you on the path to succeed in your first year at UW.First-Gen - Especially geared toward students whose parents did not attend collegePoke Pride - A great section for fans of the UW Cowboys and CowgirlsQ-munity - A section for allies and members of the LGBTQIA+ community on campusPre-Nursing - explore campus offerings with other pre-nursing majorsHealth Careers - this is for any health career studentBusiness Foundations - for majors in the College of Business
