PTEP 2961 Community EMS Technician (3L,2LB,4CR) The Community Emergency Medical Services Technician course prepares the student to assist patients in the home to access appropriate healthcare resources. Community resources and needs are discussed along with advanced assessment techniques, environmental assessment and safety concerns in order to assist the patient in gaining access to the most appropriate level of medical services in a timely manner that is beneficial to the patient, and the healthcare system as a whole. Prerequisite: Students are required to be currently licensed at the EMT, AEMT, IEMT or paramedic level. Concurrently: PTEP 2962
