A survey of Old World civilizations that examines Ancient Mesopotamia (with Canaan), Egypt, Minoan Crete, and Persia as a basis for comparative anaylsis of Ancient China and India, featuring a strong emphasis on the intellectual, cultural, religious, socio-economic and political history of the peoples involved. Prerequisite: Take ENGL-1010 or consent of instructor.
