Students investigate electrical safety rules and regulations including precautions for electrical hazards found on the job. Students learn layout of and practice finding information within the National Electric Code using an easy-to-follow procedure. Students describe fuses and circuit breakers along with their practical applications and sizing. Students explain how to size and select circuit breakers and fuses for various applications and perform short circuit calculations. Prerequisites: Completion of IST 1712 and IST 1713.
