This introductory course is designed to provide a basic understanding of the foundation of coaching. Students explore the scientific basis for coaching sports and the process of developing competent student-athletes. Students develop an individual coaching philosophy. Students apply scientific training in the psychological physiological, pedagogical, and managerial basis of sport coaching to demonstrate understanding of the "Athletes First, Winning Second" philosophy.
