Description:
Students learn theory, skills, and the basic nursing concepts of caring, documentation, teaching/learning, critical thinking, communication, and the nursing process in order to provide safe and competent nursing care to clients with basic unmet human needs in the clinical setting. In addition, students learn the legal and ethical principles needed to function as a member within the discipline, provider of care, and manager of care within the scope of practice for the Practical Nurse. Prerequisites: ENGL 1010, ZOO 2010, and successful admission to the Practical Nursing Program. Co-requisites: NRST 1688 and NRST 1705.(3.5 lec, 1 lab)
