This semester introduces the learner to the patient and family with complex illness using the concepts of health promotion, safety, clinical judgment, leadership, patient centeredness, and professionalism. This semester is focused on the vulnerable patient, which could include multisystem acute and chronic disease processes, and physiological, mental and socioeconomic factors that put the patient at risk. The patient and family lived experience is emphasized. (4 hr lec 5 hr cln)
