This course focuses on the enunciation and transcription of the German and French languages as applied to lyric diction. Familiarity with the appropriate choice of speech sounds is gained through listening, singing, and transcription assignments. The purpose of this course is to provide the aspiring singer or choral director with the effective knowledge and tools to obtain a basic proficiency in lyric diction. (2 hrs lec)
