This course will examine the period of global war that began in 1939 with the German invasion of Poland until the Japanese surrender in 1945. This course will examine the military campaigns and engagements during the war and evaluate the evolution of warfare during the period. The course will also explore political, diplomatic, social, and economic factors in various belligerent nations in the Second World War.
