This course provides the student with advanced theoretical concepts and skills associated with the clinical role of a medical assistant. Emphasis is on medication administration, cardiopulmonary testing, sterile technique, wound care, patient education, and health promotion. This course is for students enrolled in the Medical Assistant Apprenticeship Program. Instructor permission is required. The student must be employed by an affiliated healthcare agency throughout enrollment in the course. (4 lect.)
