Students will secure a foundational awareness in Indian law that includes the Marshall Trilogy, Dawes Act and recent Supreme Court decisions which ultimately affect the lives of Indian people within the United States. Tribal governments and their operations as they relate to existing law will also be part of this course. (3 lect.)
