Deals with the development of speech sound production, phonology, semantics, syntax, morphology, discourse, and pragmatics for typically-developing children from infancy to adolescence. Includes prelinguistic and paralinguistic communication, the cognitive correlates of communication, and written language. Considers the effects of sociocultural context and multiple language acquisition. Application component provides weekly experience in language sample analysis. Prerequisite: SPPA 2210 or instructor permission.
